Positive Thinking . . . Green economy pioneer Van Jones struck an optimistic note at the Bentley Leadership Forum. “We can beat global recession and global warming at the same time. We can beat poverty and pollution at the same time … and you’re the solution.”

Combining an inspired call to action with
a practical road map for meeting global
challenges, the 2009 Bentley Leadership
Forum took place on April 16. Speakers
such as Van Jones, White House special
adviser for green jobs, enterprise and innova-
tion, urged bold collaboration by business,
government and nonprofit organizations.

CITY HALL SENSATION

Seniors in the Honors Program capstone course taught by Professor of Mathematics Charles Hadlock presented their work in December to officials at Waltham City Hall. The students’ 150-page report analyzed the business climate of Moody Street. Shown here are (top photo) Economics–Finance major Owen Bacewicz ’09 and (bottom) Hadlock with Waltham Mayor Jeannette McCarthy. The group also made an appearance in Boston to share the report with state Rep. Peter Koutoujian. Photos by Bill McCormack

The day also featured a luncheon honoring
the Tomorrow25: an accomplished group
of high school juniors chosen through an
international competition. Finalists come
from around the United States and several
other countries; all have impressive records of
contributing to their schools and communities.
