Between the lines
Two days, 22 hours, 51 minutes, 33 seconds. That is the total amount of time
invested by alumni and others who went online to check out the spring 2009
Observer. The issue broke ground with an interactive format designed to complement
the traditional print edition.
As of mid-May, www.bentleyobserver-digital.com had drawn close to 1,400 individual
visitors, who arrived from six continents, 35 countries, and 119 U.S. area codes. These
are metrics to warm an editor’s heart.
A handful of readers seized the moment to hit the electronic “Feedback” button. The
cyber-missives imparted praise (great idea and very easy to navigate), caution (I have
dial-up and the time to load each page makes it impractical) and advice (add a zoom
icon to the navigation bar). We are grateful to everyone who took time to comment.
This summer issue — our online-only edition for 2009 — ramps up interactivity.
Specially developed video clips and slide shows let you hear directly from featured

BENTLEY UNIVERSITY is a leader in business education. The McCallum Graduate School emphasizes the impact of technology on business practice, in offerings that include MBA and Master of Science programs, PhD programs in accountancy and in business, and custom executive education programs. Located minutes from Boston in Waltham, Massachusetts, the school enrolls approximately 4,000 full-time undergraduate, 250 adult part-time undergraduate, 1,400 graduate, and 30 doctoral students. Bentley is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges; AACSB International — The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business; and the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS), which benchmarks quality in management and business education.
